Integrative Counselling

As an Integrative Counsellor, I use a flexible approach, drawing from elements of a number of evidence-based treatments. This allows for a tailored counselling experience, ensuring each session aligns well with your individual needs, goals, and what you will resonate with most. Your behavioral, cognitive, and physiological needs will be considered, as well as your unique characteristics, preferences, beliefs, values and strengths.

What is most important, and what you will always receive is a safe, non-judgmental space to talk about your experiences.

The modalities I most often draw upon include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy

Play Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT is a structured, practical-based treatment that can help identify how your thoughts and behaviours are impacting the way you feel. CBT will involve developing stronger self-awareness, and skills to challenge negative thought patterns, unhelpful behaviours and emotions.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

ACT is an approach that has a particular focus on learning how to sit with and manage difficult emotions. By learning strategies to help accept and feel more comfortable with unpleasant emotions, it can reduce the intensity and impact these emotions have. ACT also aims to adapt thoughts and behaviors to align well with your core values.

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy  (SFBT)

SFBT is a short-term, goal oriented approach that focuses on constructing solutions to support change. It is future orientated, using principles of positive psychology to support you in identifying your needs, wants, values, strengths and goals.

Play Therapy

Play Therapy is a fantastic approach I most often utilise when working with Children aged 5-12 years. It involves the use of play to support creative thinking, the development of coping strategies, social skills, and healthy ways to express and regulate emotions.

*Play Therapy sessions are available for in-person therapy only.
